Receipt to JSON

OCR a photo or scan of a receipt, then download JSON with the invoice remap sheets (Summary, Line items, raw tables), the previewed sheet, and the OCR text. Same normalizer as Receipt to Excel. Not a certified reader.

Receipt rows stay on this page. Vendor, date, tax, and total are the Receipts preset on AI Extract.

How to convert a receipt image to JSON

  1. Choose a JPG or PNG of a receipt — a photo, scan, or screenshot. Not a PDF.
  2. Pick the language that matches the text.
  3. Click Extract receipt JSON. OCR and table reconstruction run in your browser, then we remap date, SKU, description, quantity, and amount.
  4. Preview the JSON and download the .json file.

Features

Photo, not PDF

Extract PDF fields reads a PDF. This page reads a JPG or PNG of a receipt. Same invoice remap as Receipt to Excel.

Remap in the JSON

The file includes sheets[] (Summary, Line items, raw tables) and preview (usually line items). Image to JSON does not remap finance columns.

Normalized columns

Line items are mapped to Date, Invoice / SKU, Description, Quantity, and Amount when those columns can be guessed.

Files stay local

OCR runs in your browser. We do not upload the image.

Honest limits

Crumpled paper, handwriting, and faded ink will miss columns. This is not a bookkeeping product.

Receipt to JSON vs Image to JSON

Image to JSON is generic OCR: text, isTable, and reconstructed rows. This page adds the invoice remap sheets so a script can read line items without guessing columns.

Use Receipt to Excel if you want the workbook. Use Receipt to CSV if you only need the previewed sheet. Invoice image to JSON is the same job for people searching that query.

JPG and PNG only. We do not claim a certified receipt reader.
