When to watermark a PDF

Watermarks mark a document as a draft, confidential, or a sample, and show who it belongs to when it is shared.

A light opacity such as 15-30% keeps the text readable. Tiling makes it harder to crop the watermark out of a screenshot.

Text watermarks support Latin letters, numbers, and common symbols. For other scripts, save the text as a PNG and use an image watermark.
